Collected Strategies — Brand & Design System

Role
Creative Direction, Design Systems, Visual Identity

Context
Collected Strategies is a strategic communications firm operating in high-stakes environments (M&A, shareholder activism, crisis situations).
The firm required a visual system that matched the level of discretion, credibility, and clarity expected by institutional clients.

The Problem

The firm lacked a cohesive visual identity and scalable design system.
Materials were inconsistent across presentations, digital touchpoints, and communications—undermining perceived authority.

The challenge was to create a system that:

  • Felt conservative but not outdated

  • Could scale across high-volume, high-pressure deliverables

  • Maintained clarity under dense, complex information

Approach

I led the design from end to end, focusing on building a structured, modular system rather than one-off assets.

  • Established a restrained, institutional visual language

  • Defined typography, color, and layout rules for consistency

  • Designed flexible components for real-world use (decks, cards, social, web)

  • Balanced aesthetic refinement with operational efficiency

The goal was not just visual polish—but repeatability and control at scale

System

Built a comprehensive design system including:

  • Visual Identity — logo usage, color palette, typography hierarchy

  • Presentation Framework — modular deck templates for strategic narratives

  • Component Library — cards, deal announcements, executive communications

  • Digital Applications — website and LinkedIn content system

  • Print Collateral — business cards and supporting materials

Every element was designed to function within a unified structure.

Outcome

  • Established a cohesive, institutional-grade brand presence

  • Enabled faster, more consistent production of client-facing materials

  • Elevated the firm’s perceived credibility in high-stakes contexts

Key Contribution

This project reflects my ability to:

  • Translate ambiguous business needs into structured systems

  • Design for clarity under complexity

  • Build visual frameworks that support real operational use

Slide Decks — Strategic Communication Systems
Product Design, Presentation Systems, Vis

Context
At Collected Strategies, slide decks are primary tools for communicating strategy, financial narratives, and transaction updates to clients and stakeholders.

They are used in high-stakes environments where clarity, structure, and credibility directly impact how information is received.

The Challenge

Content was typically pre-defined and often dense, requiring translation into clear, structured presentations.

The challenge was to:

  • Organize complex information into coherent narratives

  • Design slides that support both quick scanning and deeper review

  • Iterate rapidly across multiple rounds of feedback

Each deck needed to maintain clarity, consistency, and precision under tight timelines.

Approach

I designed and built presentation systems that could support both structure and flexibility:

  • Translated content into clear slide hierarchies and narrative flows

  • Developed layouts that balance information density with readability

  • Created reusable components for consistency across decks

  • Iterated quickly to refine content, structure, and visual clarity

The focus was on making decks usable in real contexts—presentations, internal reviews, and client distribution.

Output

Delivered a wide range of presentation materials, including:

  • Transaction and deal communications

  • Strategic narratives and positioning decks

  • Data-heavy slides and summaries

  • Executive-ready presentations

All designed for immediate use in high-pressure, client-facing settings.

Outcome

  • Improved clarity and flow across complex presentations

  • Enabled faster production through structured templates and components

  • Elevated the overall quality and consistency of client communications

Key Contribution

This work reflects my ability to:

  • Translate dense content into structured, usable presentations

  • Design systems that support both speed and clarity

  • Iterate quickly while maintaining a high standard of execution
