Collected Strategies — Brand & Design System

Role
Creative Direction, Design Systems, Visual Identity

Context
Collected Strategies is a strategic communications firm operating in high-stakes environments (M&A, shareholder activism, crisis situations).
The firm required a visual system that matched the level of discretion, credibility, and clarity expected by institutional clients.

The Problem

The firm lacked a cohesive visual identity and scalable design system.
Materials were inconsistent across presentations, digital touchpoints, and communications—undermining perceived authority.

The challenge was to create a system that:

  • Felt conservative but not outdated

  • Could scale across high-volume, high-pressure deliverables

  • Maintained clarity under dense, complex information

Approach

I led the design from end to end, focusing on building a structured, modular system rather than one-off assets.

  • Established a restrained, institutional visual language

  • Defined typography, color, and layout rules for consistency

  • Designed flexible components for real-world use (decks, cards, social, web)

  • Balanced aesthetic refinement with operational efficiency

The goal was not just visual polish—but repeatability and control at scale

System

Built a comprehensive design system including:

  • Visual Identity — logo usage, color palette, typography hierarchy

  • Presentation Framework — modular deck templates for strategic narratives

  • Component Library — cards, deal announcements, executive communications

  • Digital Applications — website and LinkedIn content system

  • Print Collateral — business cards and supporting materials

Every element was designed to function within a unified structure.

Outcome

  • Established a cohesive, institutional-grade brand presence

  • Enabled faster, more consistent production of client-facing materials

  • Elevated the firm’s perceived credibility in high-stakes contexts

Key Contribution

This project reflects my ability to:

  • Translate ambiguous business needs into structured systems

  • Design for clarity under complexity

  • Build visual frameworks that support real operational use

Product Design, Data Visualization, Visual Systems

Context
At Collected Strategies, infographics are a core communication tool—used to present complex financial, strategic, and transactional information in a clear, client-facing format.

The work operates in fast-moving, high-stakes environments where materials are often refined in real time.

The Challenge

Content was typically pre-defined, but required visual translation into structured, credible graphics.

The challenge was to:

  • Interpret dense or evolving information

  • Design visuals that aligned with an institutional tone

  • Iterate quickly across multiple rounds of feedback

Each piece needed to balance clarity, accuracy, and speed, often under tight turnaround times.

Approach

I focused on building infographics from the ground up, translating content into clear visual systems:

  • Structured information into readable, hierarchical layouts

  • Designed charts, diagrams, and visuals tailored to the content

  • Maintained consistency with the broader brand system

  • Iterated rapidly to accommodate evolving feedback and refinements

The emphasis was on precision and adaptability—ensuring each graphic could evolve without losing clarity.

Output

Delivered a wide range of infographics, including:

  • Financial and transaction visuals

  • Market and performance summaries

  • Process and timeline diagrams

  • Presentation-ready data slides

All designed for direct use in executive and client-facing materials.

Outcome

  • Improved clarity and consistency across complex communications

  • Supported fast-paced project timelines through efficient iteration

  • Elevated the quality of visual communication in high-stakes contexts

Key Contribution

This work reflects my ability to:

  • Translate structured content into clear visual systems

  • Iterate quickly without compromising quality

  • Design for clarity under time and information constraints
